Service terms for RyanDesign hosting and maintenance packages

Website Hosting

What's Included

• Hosting on a managed UK server with SSL certificate
• 5 email mailboxes (1GB storage each)
• 4-hourly automated backups retained for 30 days
• 99.9% uptime target
• Security monitoring and updates
• Email support for hosting issues

Billing

• £10 per month, billed monthly via Stripe
• Payment is taken automatically on your billing date
• RYM Property Ltd will appear on your statement

Domains

• Domain registration and renewals are billed separately at cost
• Domains auto-renew annually unless you tell us otherwise
• We will never let your domain lapse
• You retain full ownership of your domain at all times

Cancellation

• Cancel anytime via your Stripe customer portal or by emailing ryan@ryandesign.co.uk
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• Upon cancellation, your website will be taken offline
• You will receive a free ZIP backup of your website files and database
• No partial refunds for unused time
• Migration assistance to another host is available at £45/hour

Acceptable Use

• Your website must not contain illegal content, malware, or content that violates UK law
• Excessive resource usage (e.g. cryptocurrency mining, mass email sending) is not permitted
• We reserve the right to suspend sites that breach these terms

Backups & Support

• Automated backups are taken every 4 hours and retained for 30 days
• You are encouraged to maintain your own backups for critical data
• Hosting support covers server issues, uptime, backups, and SSL
• Content changes, design updates, and new features are not included - see Maintenance packages
• Response time: within 24 hours on working days

What's Included

• Content updates (text, images, blog posts)
• Minor design tweaks and adjustments
• Plugin and theme updates
• Security patches
• Performance monitoring
• Bug fixes
• General website housekeeping

How It Works

• Email your requests to ryan@ryandesign.co.uk
• We'll complete them within your monthly hours
• You'll receive a monthly summary of work completed
• Unused hours do not roll over to the next month

Additional Work

• If a request exceeds your remaining hours, we'll quote before proceeding
• Additional work is charged at £45 per hour
• Larger projects (new pages, redesigns, new features) are quoted separately

Response Times

• Requests are typically actioned within 2-3 working days
• Urgent requests (site down, security issues) are prioritised
• We work Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

What's Not Included

• Hosting (available separately at £10/month)
• Domain registration and renewals
• Major redesigns or new functionality (quoted separately)
• Third-party software licences
• SEO campaigns or ongoing marketing
• Content writing (we update what you provide)

General Terms

Liability

• We take reasonable care to protect your website and data
• We are not liable for losses caused by third-party services, hosting providers, or circumstances beyond our control
• Our liability is limited to fees paid in the previous 12 months

Changes to Terms

• We may update these terms with 30 days notice
• Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance
